中國(guó)人與英美人打電話有很大差異。用英語(yǔ)打電話要掌握以下幾點(diǎn)：
1. 打電話人接通電話后可說：Hello ！ 接著說：Thisis sb. speaking. / Could（May）I speak tosb.?/Is sb. in? 但不能問：Whoare you？接電話人可說：Hello！Goodmorning/afternoon/ evening.緊接著將自己的電話號(hào)碼或姓名告訴對(duì)方。如：（This is ） 3531968./Thisis Jim speaking.
2. 問對(duì)方是誰(shuí)， 不說：Who areyou ？ 而應(yīng)說：Who's thatspeaking（calling）?/May Ihave y our name? /Is that sb. （speaking）？
3.代人接電話，最好說：What nameshall I give?/Who shall I say is calling?若要離開去叫人，須跟對(duì)方說：Hold the line,please. I'll get him/her tophone.（別掛斷，我就去找他（她）聽電話。）或Hold on for a moment.（請(qǐng)等一會(huì)兒。）反之，若電話要找的人在身邊，代接電話的人可說：It's foryou.或For you.（你的電話。）
4. 如果打電話要找的人不在， 代接電話的人可說：Sorry, he/she isn’t in.或I'm afraid he/she isout.（他／她不在。）如果問對(duì)方是否要留話，說：May I take amessage for you? /Can I take a message? / Would you like to leave amessage?
打電話者若要拜托接電話人轉(zhuǎn)告要找的人某事時(shí)， 可問：Could you take a message for me?/Please tellhim （her）that（sth.）…….
/Tellhim（her）Icalled./Will you please tell him （her）to c all meback later?
5.若對(duì)方打錯(cuò)電話，接電話者可說：Sorry,you've dialed the wrongnumber. 打電話人發(fā)現(xiàn)拔錯(cuò)號(hào)碼， 應(yīng)說：Sorry, I've dialed the wrongnumber.
6.若電話的線路忙或有問題，可說：The line is busy. （占線。）The line is dead.（斷線。）
