It's time to go clothes shopping. Some peopleare shopping maniac (逛商店狂) while some others have shoppingphobia (逛商店恐懼癥)。而無論你是哪一類的人，掌握一些購物必備用語都可以幫助你更快、更好地購買衣服。再說了，誰不喜歡新衣服呢！
不同的是，逛商店狂更喜歡do window shopping，而逛商店恐懼癥“患者們”更喜歡go shopping to make a specificpurchase?，F(xiàn)在商場的服務員通常都是十分熱情的。她們見到來了顧客，通常都會殷勤地問一句"Can I help you?"或者"What can I do foryou?"（她們可不會直白地問What do you want或者What do you want tobuy哦）。售貨員有時候也會湊近你問"What would youlike?"或者"What would you like tohave?"。這時候，如果你就想do window shopping，你就可以禮貌地說一句"I'm just browsing."或是 "I'm justlooking."，這樣子售貨員就不會繼續(xù)糾纏下去，而你就可以在店里自由自在地逛逛了。如果你是go shopping to make a specificpurchase，比方說你想找一件高領毛衣，你就可以說"I'm looking for a turtle necksweater. 注意嘍， "trousers"通常都是以復數(shù)的形式出現(xiàn)，所以在" though they are good around thewaist " 中，you use "they" instead of"it"。

當然，上面僅僅是提供了一個換貨的簡單對話流程。其實，這里面的門道還很多呢。作為assistant，就應該做到在說每句話之前，都make a kind of apologyfirst。而身為customer，投訴時使用粗魯?shù)难哉Z可能會把氣氛弄僵，以致問題無法解決。A direct complaint often sounds veryrude. To be polite, you can begin your complaint by usingexpressions such as "I hate to have to say this, but ..." or "I'msorry to bother you, but ...". You can also use "seem" or "appear"to soften your complaint.
Another way to make your complaintless harsh is to use the passive voice or the word " someone"instead of the name of the person involved. 沒錯，不指名道姓的投訴總算是給人留了余地。除非你被氣到七竅生煙的地步，千萬不要輕易使用" I'm fed up with ..."，" I wish you could ..." or " Youcan't possibly..."之類的激烈言辭。
補充三個購物常用句型：
1. We have a clearance saletoday. 我們今天清倉大拍賣。
Clearance sale 是清倉大拍賣的固定用法。另外，我們去店里如果要找那些拍賣的商品，我們可以問店員"Where can I find the clearanceitems?"。
2. The price will go down.這價錢將會降低。
go down 跟 go up 很好用，當你不知道用什么動詞，如 increase 還是surge的時候，就用goes up。比如作實驗時化學藥劑濃度上升，這個上升你可以用increase，但也可以說"The concentration goes up."。再比如，想問明年的保費會不會降低的時候，這個降低如果想不起來要用 decrease 好還是 lower 好，就干脆可以說"The price will go down."。 另外類似的口語講法，你可以用 rise 跟 drop 來代表 go up 和 go down。例如"The price will drop."
3. Let me ring that up foryou! 讓我?guī)湍憬Y帳吧！
買方結帳最標準的講法是 check out，例如你衣服都買好了，就可以拿到收銀臺(cash register)，跟店員說，"I want to checkout."她就會幫你算錢。另外還有些店員喜歡用ring it up 這個片語，同樣也是結帳的意思，為什么呢？因為在開收銀機的時候不是通常會聽到 ring 的一聲嗎？所以這個 ring it up 就有了“結帳”的意思。比方說你看上了一件衣服但沒有標示價錢，你拿著衣服去問收銀員，結果她告訴你這件衣服只要$9.99。這時候你就可以用ring it up 這個片語來回答她：OK. Go ahead and ring it up forme. （好，那就幫我結帳吧?。┯袝r候店員看到你拿著衣服走過來，她也會主動跟你說：Let me ring that up foryou.
