愛華網(wǎng)對于大多數(shù)昆蟲學(xué)家乃至生物學(xué)家而言，比較熟悉的大型國際檢索期刊當(dāng)為美國《生物學(xué)文摘》(Biological Abstracts, BA)、英國《動物學(xué)記錄》(Zoological Record, ZR)等，而對綜合性檢索期刊SCI了解較少。近年來，我國不少科研和教學(xué)單位刮起了SCI風(fēng)，在定職、評獎、立項時常常以SCI期刊源文章為重要的參考指標(biāo)，而且，此風(fēng)愈刮愈烈，大有漫卷全國之勢。雖然不同的單位與個人對此現(xiàn)象有不同的看法，但多在國際上影響因子較高的期刊上發(fā)表文章，無疑會對提高我系的學(xué)術(shù)影響力起到積極作用。此處，謹(jǐn)將SCI期刊及有關(guān)昆蟲學(xué)SCI期刊信息加以簡介；同時，為了便于大家全面了解中國期刊的收錄情況，也將有關(guān)入圍的中國期刊羅列其中。
什么是SCI？
SCI是期刊Science Citation Index (《科學(xué)引文索引》的縮寫，是由坐落在美國費城的一家私立科技情報研究所( Institute of Scientific Information, 簡稱ISI)編輯出版的綜合型檢索期刊。創(chuàng)刊于1961年，初為年刊，后改為季刊，1979年改為雙月刊，現(xiàn)在每期分A~E5冊。
SCI收錄文章的范圍主要為自然科學(xué)、醫(yī)學(xué)、農(nóng)林、技術(shù)、工程、環(huán)境、管理、社會科學(xué)、藝術(shù)與文學(xué)等，偏重于應(yīng)用與技術(shù)。所報道的出版物主要來自以美英為主的40多個國家和地區(qū)，涉及近40種文字，1997年收入了4971種期刊，其中美國為1391種，英國748種，荷蘭340種，德國266種，法國92種，日本81種，中國僅9種；被收錄的期刊可以分為內(nèi)圈期刊和外圈期刊(expanded)兩類。近年每年收編的期刊源文獻(xiàn)在60萬條左右，引文文獻(xiàn)1000多萬條，覆蓋了世界范圍內(nèi)的16000余種期刊與書籍。原則上，除廣告、短評、書評 (Science 與Nature上的書評例外)外，出現(xiàn)在內(nèi)圈出版物源中的獨立文章及文章后的參考文獻(xiàn)全部收錄，而出現(xiàn)在外圈期刊上的文章有時則有選擇地收錄；但有些外圈期刊的影響因子比內(nèi)圈期刊的還要大。國內(nèi)各單位或各行業(yè)在評獎、晉職等場合對SCI文章以及所謂的內(nèi)圈文章與外圈文章的看法不盡相同，有些單位不管是發(fā)表在內(nèi)圈期刊還是外圈期刊上的文章都算SCI文章，有些單位僅承認(rèn)在內(nèi)圈期刊上的文章，而大多數(shù)單位則只認(rèn)可某些權(quán)威檢索機(jī)構(gòu)的檢索結(jié)果。
SCI對被收錄的期刊每年要進(jìn)行評估，個別期刊會被淘汰，同時還有一些新的期刊成為SCI的成員。如1998年，SCI所收錄的63種昆蟲學(xué)期刊中包括了Entomophaga (《昆蟲天敵》)和Memoirs of the Entomological Society of Canada (《加拿大昆蟲學(xué)會備忘錄》)，2000年SCI收錄的65種期刊則未包括上述兩種期刊，而收入了Biocontrol (《生物防治》)、Biocontrol Science and Technology (《生物防治科學(xué)與技術(shù)》)、Journal of Apicultural Research (《養(yǎng)蜂研究雜志》)和Odonatologica (《蜻蜓學(xué)報》)。中國的《昆蟲學(xué)報》曾于20世紀(jì)80年代被SCI收錄，后來也被擠了出來。
SCI有哪些優(yōu)缺點？
優(yōu)點 目前，SCI由引文索引(citation index) 、來源索引(source index)及輪排主題索引(permuterm index)3部分組成。絕大部分科技文獻(xiàn)都有參考文獻(xiàn)，將所有被收入文獻(xiàn)的參考文獻(xiàn)按作者的姓氏排列起來編成引文索引，把來源出版物的每篇文獻(xiàn)按作者的姓氏排列起來編成來源索引，將論文中的所有主題詞抽出來按主題詞字母順序編成輪排主題索引。這種獨特的索引系統(tǒng)也許是該刊成功的關(guān)鍵，從中讀者可以比較方便地找到何人何時在何種刊物上發(fā)表了論文、某篇文章曾經(jīng)被何人在何處引用等?；谶@種引用與被引用的關(guān)系，可以提供一種不受任何特定術(shù)語或人為語言制約的檢索途徑；如只要知道某段時間發(fā)表過某方面文章的作者姓名，就能從來源索引入手找出此人發(fā)表在SCI來源期刊上的所有論文標(biāo)題與文獻(xiàn)。
描述；如果知道某一國家或地區(qū)或某單位的名稱可以從來源索引中的團(tuán)體索引(corporate index)入手找出相關(guān)的文獻(xiàn)信息；輪排主題索引則可以使檢索者從多個主題詞出發(fā)查到同一文獻(xiàn)，為檢索者在不知道作者姓名的情況下檢索提供了方便。
此外，SCI能幫助科技工作者掌握世界范圍內(nèi)某學(xué)科的動態(tài)，掌握哪些國家的哪些研究機(jī)構(gòu)在從事什么研究，通過引文的分析可以評價期刊質(zhì)量及人才預(yù)測，對于科研規(guī)劃與管理也有一定的參考價值。
缺點 收錄范圍十分有限，世界科學(xué)期刊每年出版超過150000種，而SCI僅收入3%左右的期刊，并且存在一定的語種、地區(qū)偏見性。同樣，在引用文獻(xiàn)方面也存在作者、地區(qū)間的差異。總體而言，非英語國家的雜志收入甚少，很難用SCI文章和引用情況全面評價某人或某單位的學(xué)術(shù)水平。
與昆蟲學(xué)有關(guān)的SCI期刊源雜志有哪些？
全世界大約有昆蟲學(xué)期刊2000種，而被SCI收錄的止2000年僅有65種，其中，內(nèi)圈期刊43種，外圈期刊22種。此外，一些昆蟲學(xué)文獻(xiàn)還會出現(xiàn)在動物學(xué)、生物學(xué)、農(nóng)林、醫(yī)藥、環(huán)境等與昆蟲學(xué)相關(guān)的SCI雜志中，如Science、Nature、Cell、Evolution、Development等都有一些昆蟲學(xué)文獻(xiàn)。中國的昆蟲學(xué)期刊目前尚未能進(jìn)入SCI圈。
