愛(ài)華網(wǎng)在英語(yǔ)國(guó)家中，有不少類(lèi)似于我們中國(guó)人愛(ài)做著玩兒的腦筋急轉(zhuǎn)彎
問(wèn)答題。這些問(wèn)題要么非常尋常而回答出其不意；要么非常古怪而回答
笨拙老實(shí)，但都能達(dá)到讓人會(huì)心一笑的效果。笑過(guò)之余，你還會(huì)對(duì)自己
的思維定勢(shì)有所意識(shí)，所以做這類(lèi)問(wèn)答題，不僅會(huì)讓人輕松好笑，同時(shí)
也鍛煉了我們思維的靈活性。
試試下面兩道題：
1．When can you go as fast as a racing car？..
（什么時(shí)候你能像跑車(chē)一樣快？）回答是：When you’re in it．（當(dāng)
你坐在跑車(chē)?yán)锏臅r(shí)候。）
2．Where does afternoon come before morning in the world？（世
界上哪個(gè)地方下午比早上先到？）
回答是：In the dictionary（在字典里）。
正如我們中國(guó)很多腦筋急轉(zhuǎn)彎題目是在諧音上做文章一樣，英語(yǔ)腦
筋急轉(zhuǎn)彎也廣泛采用了諧音（homonyms）和雙關(guān)（puns），問(wèn)此而答彼，
導(dǎo)致詼諧的效果。做這樣的題目，需要對(duì)英語(yǔ)中的一詞多義或一語(yǔ)雙關(guān)
比較熟悉；也就是說(shuō)，做這類(lèi)題目，你還會(huì)增加更多的語(yǔ)言知識(shí)。讓我
們?cè)倏磧衫?br />
1．What stays hot even if put in a fridge？（什么東西就是放在冰
箱里也是熱的？）回答是：Pepper（辣椒）。
2．Which side is the left side of a pie？（哪邊是餡餅的左邊）？
回答是： The side that is not eaten，yet．（還沒(méi)有吃的那一邊）。
為什么這樣回答？已經(jīng)會(huì)心微笑的讀者朋友會(huì)告訴還是一臉迷憫的
讀者：①hot 有兩個(gè)意思：熱的；辣的。用第二個(gè)意思去理解原題，答案
自然是pepper（辣椒）了；②the left side of a pie 有兩層意思：餅
的左邊；餅剩下沒(méi)吃的那一邊。問(wèn)題和回答也是利用了這兩種截然不同
的意思。
在收集編譯本書(shū)時(shí)，我們對(duì)各種語(yǔ)言難點(diǎn)，尤其是諧音雙關(guān)都配有
